S.P.O. bv - Struislux

S.P.O. bv, Ostrich Products & Development, is a West-Flemish company dedicated to the commercialization of ostriches and ostrich products. In the early 1990s we fell for the charms of the ostrich and since 1997 we have been exclusively professional with the ostrich and its products.

S.P.O. supply care products, live animals, skins and empty ostrich eggs as decoration. We are happy to share our experiences and contacts, at home and abroad, with starters within the framework of business advice.

I was a co-founder in 1995 and for 10 years chairman of the Flemish Loopvogelshouders Vereniging (VLV) vzw. I gained my international experience as chairman for 5 years of the European Ostrich Council (EOC).

S.P.O. bvba is active in the EU, Brazil, Chile, Iran, Ukraine, South Africa, Mali, Ivory Coast, Senegal, etc., i.e. everyone is welcome. You can contact us with all your questions about the ostrich.

Import and export of ostrich skins

We buy the ostrich skins directly from the farmer and sell to the end consumer. Fresh skins, skins in the “crust” or if necessary on request, colored and finished. We can also take care of processing the skins into handbags etc. according to your requirement.

We buy and sell at home and abroad. The quality and service is very important here. We provide training to the farmers regarding slaughter and storage of the skin. We are in contact with the tanneries and our customers to meet their wishes to obtain the best end products.

S.P.O. business advice

S.P.O. is able to provide advice on starting and managing an ostrich farm. Informative conversations and preliminary design of the entire infrastructure are treated expertly. On-site guidance and training is also possible.

Cosmetics based on Ostrich oil

This exclusive range of modern cosmetics has been developed using ostrich oil for customers with high demands. The wholesome effects of ostrich oil for body care are optimised by Struislux.

They are highly nutritious, give fast penetration, optimal hydration and are not greasy. Each product displays a droplet indicating the ostrich oil concentration.
Thanks to the low melting temperature 25°C the oil penetrates in the skin very quickly and does not obstruct the pores.
